Xeo Quyt is a famous combination of eco-tourism and historical relic site in the Mekong Delta. It is located about 30km from Cao Lanh City, making it convenient to travel from both Cao Lanh and Sa Dec. The Xeo Quyt tourist area covers more than 50 hectares, of which 20 hectares are pristine cajuput forest.
The best time to visit Xeo Quyt is from September to November. During this period, Dong Thap is in its flood season, with waterways and ponds full of water and lush green trees, creating a very cool and pleasant atmosphere. Arriving here, you’ll be amazed by the natural beauty of the Mekong Delta, with over 170 plant species and 200 species of wild animals, many of which are listed in Vietnam’s Red Book.
In addition to eco-tourism, Xeo Quyt also features a vivid reconstruction of a wartime base area, hidden within the small canals leading into the ancient forest. 2. Sa Dec Flower Village
Sa Dec Flower Village is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Dong Thap. Originally a traditional ornamental flower village, Sa Dec Flower Village has now expanded to 500 hectares and boasts more than 2,000 species of flowers and ornamental plants, making it one of the largest flower centers in the South and the Mekong Delta.
Enriched by the alluvium from the Tien and Sa Dec rivers, the flower beds here are always in full bloom, creating beautiful floral landscapes. Flowers are grown on trellises above, with water from the canals flowing below. Therefore, when you visit, you can even wade in the water to admire the flowers. 3. Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House
Built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this ancient house belonged to Mr. Huynh Thuy Le, a member of an upper-class family in the area. The house is located in a bustling riverside trading area along the Sa Dec River and is famous for its harmonious blend of Eastern and Western architecture. From the outside, the three-compartment house resembles a French-style villa with tiled roofs, patterned floor tiles, arched doorways, and Renaissance-style carvings. However, the interior design and decor follow Chinese traditions.
Especially, the house is also famous for the cross-border love story between the wealthy Vietnamese-Chinese heir Huynh Thuy Le and the French novelist Marguerite Duras, which makes the ancient house even more attractive to visitors eager to explore its history. You can also stay overnight in the house for 550,000 - 1,000,000 VND/night (including one lunch and one breakfast).

4. Tram Chim National Park
If you enjoy observing and studying nature and wildlife, you cannot miss Tram Chim National Park. This park is considered a miniature picture of the Dong Thap Muoi wetland ecosystem, covering over 7,000 hectares across 7 communes. It is home to 130 species of plants, 233 species of water birds, 40 species of fish, and 100 species of vertebrates. Notably, the waterbird population in Tram Chim accounts for 25% of all bird species in Vietnam, with many rare species (such as the red-crowned crane). In 2012, Tram Chim was recognized as the world’s 2,000th Ramsar site (a wetland of international importance) and the 4th in Vietnam.
The best times to visit Tram Chim National Park are in February (when birds begin to return) and the flood season from August to November (when birds breed and lotuses and water lilies bloom). During these times, Tram Chim offers tours combined with activities such as rowing a traditional sampan boat, fishing with nets, trapping field mice, and harvesting young rice.

The tourist area is located in a peaceful countryside, 39 km from the city center, with cool and fresh air all year round. The area features 11 hectares of ponds planted with pink lotus, interspersed with vast rice fields, creating a picturesque and poetic landscape. The color of the lotuses here changes throughout the day, usually light pink in the early morning, turning pink at noon, and becoming deeper in the afternoon.
When you visit, you can experience interesting activities such as rowing a boat to pick lotus, catching fish, or capturing shimmering photos with the lotus flowers. Especially, you should not miss trying dishes made from lotus such as lotus salad, lotus-wrapped rice, snails steamed with pepper in lotus, and more.

6. Phuoc Kien Pagoda (Lotus Leaf Pagoda)
Phuoc Kien Pagoda is one of the tourist attractions in Dong Thap that you shouldn't miss. This place isn’t famous for its large area or unique architecture, but for its ponds filled with giant lotus leaves—hence its other name, the "Lotus Leaf Pagoda."
The lotus leaves here can reach up to 4 meters in diameter and have leaf edges 5 cm above the water surface. Remarkably, these lotus leaves can withstand weights from 80 to 140 kg. At first glance, the leaves resemble giant flat conical hats and are considered a rare lotus species in Southeast Asia. Visitors can sit or stand on the leaves to take photos, but there is an extra fee for this experience.

7. Date Palm Garden
Compared to other tourist attractions in Dong Thap, Date Palm Garden is a relatively new destination that attracts many young visitors who come here to check in thanks to its stunning and poetic scenery. The garden is located on the way to Sa Dec Flower Village and covers an area of about 400 square meters, so you can visit the whole garden in about half a day.
This is home to more than 200 ten-year-old date palms brought from Cambodia. The special thing is that you can only visit here during two summer months (especially from mid-April), which is when the garden is at its most fruitful. There are many magical photo spots in the garden that look like scenes from Arabian fairy tales. You can taste the dates right in the garden or buy some to take home as gifts.

Go Thap Relic Area is located in My Hoa and Tan Kieu communes. It was discovered by the French at the end of the 19th century and excavations began in the early 20th century. This is a rich historical, cultural, and spiritual site, featuring ancient temple towers, stone steles, statues, and the tomb system of the Oc Eo culture.
Additionally, the relic area has recently added a lotus-shaped exhibition house, a countryside food market, and a cultural space for agricultural trade. Every year, two major and solemn festivals are held here: the memorial festival for national heroes Thien Ho Vo Duy Duong and Quan Lon Thuong Doc Binh Kieu, and the Ba Chua Xu Go Thap festival.
