The poetic and enchanting scenery of the Krabi Islands, Thailand.

1. Introduction to Krabi

Krabi is an archipelago in Krabi Province, Thailand. Located in the Andaman Sea, about 800 km from Bangkok, Krabi feels like a forgotten blue sea paradise. This archipelago is west of Phuket, a famous beach area that attracts many tourists.

If you love picturesque landscapes and seek a peaceful place to refresh your soul, Krabi is the perfect destination. It offers pristine beauty with colorful coral reefs, towering limestone mountains amidst the sea, clear blue waters, and breathtaking sunset views.

2. Travel Guide from Bangkok to Krabi

Currently, no airline operates direct flights from Vietnam to Krabi. Therefore, the common way to reach Krabi is to transit at a point in Thailand, usually Bangkok.

2.1. Getting to Bangkok

From Vietnam, you can travel to Bangkok by land or air. Traveling by bus is an option, but the distance is quite long, requiring you to pass through multiple routes such as Vietnam - Cambodia - Thailand or Vietnam - Laos - Thailand, making this option time-consuming and exhausting.

Thus, the most convenient option is to fly to Bangkok. In Vietnam, many airlines offer direct flights to Bangkok, Thailand. Vietjet is one of the airlines that frequently offers promotional fares for travelers to Thailand. You can check out more information HERE!

Taking a bus is the most cost-effective way to travel. However, with an 800 km distance from Bangkok to Krabi, the journey takes nearly 11 hours. This is not an ideal option as it consumes a lot of time and might affect your health for the Krabi adventure. For those who wish to experience traveling to Krabi by bus, it costs about 920 Baht per person (approximately 640,000 VND).

2.3.1 Renting a Motorbike

Just like in Vietnam, Thai people frequently use motorbikes in their daily lives. If you want to experience and feel the local life, don't hesitate to rent a motorbike. This vehicle gives you more comfort and flexibility during your Krabi trip. There are various types of motorbikes with different engine capacities to choose from, ranging from 100-125cc to larger ones. The daily rental price for a motorbike in Krabi is about 250 - 300 Baht depending on the model (approximately 170,000 - 210,000 VND).

2.3.2 Taxi

Taxi is a common mode of transportation available everywhere. However, the cost can be quite high if you use it frequently. If you choose a taxi, you need to negotiate and agree on a reasonable price before getting in to avoid being overcharged.

2.3.3 Longtail Boat

A unique feature of traveling in Krabi, Thailand, is exploring the ocean and visiting the islands. Therefore, a longtail boat is an essential mode of transportation for your Krabi trip. The longtail boat service allows you to travel to many places in Krabi at a very affordable price, ranging from 50 - 80 Baht (approximately 35,000 - 55,000 VND), depending on the distance. You can catch these rides at Ao Nang Beach, Krabi Town, etc. The boats run all day, so you don't have to worry about missing a trip, but remember to return before dark!

There are also some itineraries to further islands with more stops that cost more. Many boats list prices directly on a board or through contact with the boat owner. Therefore, you should plan your Krabi tour clearly and inquire about the prices to fit your travel budget.
