In 1978, the pagoda was relocated from Hai Van - Lang Co to Nhan Bieu village, Huong Ho commune. After 10 years of being located here, Venerable Gioi Duc designed the pagoda to become a serene meditation place, close to nature.

In 1992, the position of abbot was handed over to Venerable Phap Tong - who contributed greatly to the renovation and redesign of the temple space into a unique beauty resembling a peaceful paradise.

3. Explore the unique beauty of Huyen Khong Mountain Pagoda

Huyen Khong Pagoda has an area of about 10,000m², divided into 2 main areas: Outer Court and Inner Court. Specifically, the Inner Court is reserved for meditation, while the Outer Court is where religious ceremonies, activities of Buddhism, and sightseeing for tourists are organized.

The Outer Court of the pagoda includes the following main areas:

3.1 Main Hall

The main hall area preserves the intact Vietnamese ancient architectural style. Borrowing the structure of Hue's communal houses, the pagoda has been expanded and some details changed. With the main materials being wood and fish scale tiles, along with vermilion roof tiles and red brick flooring, it creates a simple, rustic space yet still deeply imbued with the national spirit and the solemnity of Buddhism.

The Main Hall, also known as the outer temple, is where visitors from afar come to worship, offer prayers, listen to the Dharma, meditate, etc. It is also where major Buddhist festivals are held. This place worships Shakyamuni Buddha, the Eighteen Arhats, and other venerable monks.

3.2 Am May Tia (Tuvan Am)

This is the residence, study room, and reception area of the abbot. This structure shares the same architectural style as the Main Hall, with its simple beauty harmonizing with nature. The upper floor of the am is a scripture loft. You will have the opportunity to discuss and contemplate peacefully when coming here.

3.3 Nghinh Luong Pavilion

Nghinh Luong Pavilion is built with thatched roofs and miscellaneous wood obtained from planted forests, with an open space design - three sides are open. Visitors can come here to rest, enjoy tea, admire the scenery, and converse. This place often exhibits Vietnamese and Han calligraphy, paintings, and artistic photographs. Surrounding it are many pots of porcelain flowers, giant lilies, and orchids that are hundreds of years old.

3.4 Monk's residence street

Monk's residence street consists of small interconnected houses with an area of about 120m². This is the kitchen, monk's dormitory for monks and Buddhists who come to worship annually.

3.5 Outer Court Area

The Outer Court area has an extremely large area with beautiful natural landscapes resembling a watercolor painting.

  • Stone grass garden: This garden area of about 500m² is covered by green grass and gray stones. Here stands a bronze statue of Buddha weighing 3 tons, a stone cave inside with a statue of the suffering Buddha (Snow Mountain statue), and the Loc Gia garden designed symbolically with white stone - a circle of dharma rotation. Monks often practice martial arts, discuss, and recite poetry here.
  • Five lakes: There are 5 water lakes scattered around the temple grounds, each with a small bridge crossing. Including 3 large lakes: Thuy Nguyet Dam, Son Anh Lake, Vong Oa Dam, and 2 small lakes.
  • Calligraphy hall: The Calligraphy hall is a cluster of five-roofed thatched houses, located opposite the pine forest, across from Son Anh Lake. This is where calligraphy is displayed, with verses changed according to the season or weather.
