The inaugural ceremony was held at Tainan Airport, attended by Mr. Yeh Tse-shan, Deputy Mayor of Tainan City, alongside representatives of local authorities, partners and Vietjet’s leadership. Vietjet flight VJ1942 from Hanoi landed in Tainan on the morning of October 25 and received a warm welcome with a traditional water cannon salute on the apron. Later that day, flight VJ1943 departed Tainan for Hanoi, marking the official launch of the new route. Vietjet’s Chief Executive Officer Nguyen Thanh Son said: “Every new route connects more than two destinations on a map; it also opens up new opportunities for people, businesses and communities. Vietjet believes that a flight can shorten geographical distances, while connectivity, mutual understanding and opportunities for shared growth bring people closer together. We hope the Hanoi–Tainan (Taiwan, China) route will become a lasting bridge, helping promote tourism, economic exchange and stronger community ties.”

While Hanoi captivates visitors with its blend of timeless charm and modern vibrancy, refined cuisine and rich history reflected in every corner of its Old Quarter, Tainan is often regarded as the historical and cultural heart of Taiwan (China). Visitors to Tainan can step back in time to explore centuries-old temples, the historic Anping Fort, the atmospheric Shennong Street illuminated at night, and the city’s renowned street food scene. Vietjet’s direct service not only brings the two destinations closer together but also creates more opportunities for visiting family and friends, tourism, trade and cultural exchange.
