Da Lat Airport or Lien Khuong Airport was built by the French in 1933 with a runway length of 700 m. From 1956 to 1960, the airport was taken over by the Americans and was renovated and upgraded with complete infrastructure, capable of serving up to 50,000 passengers per year.
After 1975, the airport was operated by the Vietnam People's Army, primarily serving military purposes and transporting civilians to new economic zones. From 1981 to 1985, Lien Khuong Airport was opened to serve civil flights, but operations were temporarily halted due to low passenger volume. It wasn't until 1992 that this airport resumed operations and began to exploit a variety of flight routes. The low-cost airline Vietjet is currently operating many flights at Lien Khuong Airport to serve its customers.
Lien Khuong Airport is located in an important economic trading area of Lam Dong Province. The airport has a very unique design inspired by wild sunflowers, leaving a lasting impression on many passengers when they arrive here.
