Frequently Asked Questions

Songthaew, commonly known as the baht bus, is a popular and economical means of getting around the city. Using a taxi through an app is more convenient when traveling in a group or going to distant locations; if you rent a motorbike, you need to have a valid license and driving experience.

You can politely bargain at the night market, souvenir stalls, and some small shops that do not have listed prices. In shopping malls, convenience stores, restaurants, and places that have publicly displayed prices, bargaining is usually not appropriate.

Street food in Pattaya is generally quite safe, especially at busy night markets. You should choose clean stalls, food that is prepared hot on-site, and be cautious with raw seafood or food that has been left out in the open for too long.

The ideal time to visit Pattaya is from November to February when the weather is cooler, there is less rain, and outdoor activities are favorable. From May to October, there tends to be more rain, but sunny days can still occur.

Overall, Pattaya is a fairly safe destination and attracts many tourists. However, you should keep your belongings secure at the beach, night markets, and entertainment areas; avoid going alone in deserted places late at night, and do not leave drinks unattended.
