Vietjet Air to ban the carrying of Samsung Galaxy Note 7

(Vietjet, Ho Chi Minh city, October 18th 2016)- In order to ensure safety and security for all passengers and flights, Vietjet officially announced that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is now prohibited on any flights operated by Vietjet under any forms of transportation, including carry on baggage, checked baggage as well as cargo services. The announcement has come into effect as of October 18th, 2016.

This announcement followed an order from Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam on October 17th, 2016, recommendations from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Federal Aviation Administration, Safety Alert Notice No. 14/2016 from Vietjet dated October 18th, 2016 in respect of measurements to be taken to assure security, safety for all flights due to risk of fire and explosion caused by battery of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device.

Previously on September 12th, 2016, Vietjet had made an announcement on banning the transportation of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as checked baggage under an order number 3729/CT – CHK dated September 9th 2016 from Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
