VietjetAir now flies to Vinh from Ho Chi Minh City

VietjetAir yesterday launched its maiden flight from Ho Chi Minh to Vinh, one of the country’s fastest growing urban centers, and the main hub in Vietnam’s north central region.

The route further underlines VietjetAir’s swift move from newcomer to second largest carrier in Vietnam with a growing fleet and expanding network. The low-cost carrier now boasts six domestic connections with more to come before the year’s end.

“We’re delighted to open this flight connecting Vinh city and Nghe An province to Vietnam’s largest business and tourism hub,” said  Pritam Singh, Deputy General of VietjetAir. “We believe our service will help meet the significant demand for travel between these two cities.”

VietjetAir marked the special occasion by launching a corporate social responsibility program—providing 500 health insurance cards to residents of Nghe An province from disadvantaged circumstances—and a special promotion for the new connection with fares from VND499,000 (US$24) on offer for passengers booking between now and December 10, 2012 (www.vietjetair.com). The Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh route will operate one round trip a day with an Airbus A320. The one hour and 45 minute flight will depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 10.35am and return at 1.05pm.

“As always we have introduced a service that we believe opens up new doors for tourism and business in Vietnam by aiding and abetting the country’s cultural and economic activity,” said Singh. “Whether traveling for business or pleasure between these two destinations, our customers will certainly relish our high quality and affordable services and our fun, friendly attitude.”

VietjetAir’s six domestic routes now connect Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, Nha Trang, Danang, Hai Phong and Vinh, and Hanoi to Danang. The airline will launch further routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Hue, Dalat and Phu Quoc before the end of the year and the airline’s first international flights will be taking off by early next year.

The airline’s expansion has been strongly backed by world’s leading service providers, including Airbus, Cybersource and SIAEC. The carrier provides a highly secure online payment system, top quality maintenance and inventory services, and its flights are staffed with friendly and enthusiastic flight attendants and feature maximum safety measures.
