Vietjet to launch new route from Hanoi to Taipei

(Ho Chi Minh City, January 22, 2016) – Vietjet announces today it will officially launch Hanoi – Taipei route on February 1st with 3 return flights a week.

The flight between Hanoi and Taipei will take 2 hours and 40 minutes one way, and will be operated every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Flight VJ5972 will depart from Hanoi at 15:10 and arrive at Taipei at 18:50 (local time). The return flight VJ5973 will depart from Taiwan’s capital city at 19:50 and arrive in Hanoi at 21:30 (local time).

Vietjet also currently operate daily flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Taipei. VJ840 flight departs from Ho Chi Minh City at 1:10 and arrives in Taipei at 5:35 (local time). The return flight VJ841 departs from Taipei at 6:35 and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 9:00 (local time).

According to statistics revealed by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism at the end of December 2015, Taiwanese visitors to Vietnam in 2015 reached to 438,704, with a growth rate of 112%, ranking behind Mainland China, Korea, Japan and the United States. In addition, Tourism Bureau of Taiwan also revealed that Vietnamese visitors to Taiwan in 2015 reached to 146,380, with a growth rate of 6.71%.
