Vietjet Honoured As ASEAN’s Best Aviation Enterprise In 2019

(Bangkok, November 3, 2019) – At the 2019 ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) ceremony held on the evening of November 2, within the framework of the ASEAN Summit in Thailand, new-age carrier Vietjet was honored as the "Priority Integration Sector: Aviation" winner (Best Aviation Enterprise in Southeast Asia 2019). Vietjet Vice President Ho Ngoc Yen Phuong represented the airline to receive this prestigious award, witnessed by Thai Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and high-level representatives from the Thai government and ASEAN nations.

Vietjet impressed the Judging Panel through its significant contributions to regional integration and its role in "connecting the skies" between countries within the region and the world. The award also recognizes Vietjet's outstanding business performance and its widespread brand presence across the region and globally.

Vietjet Vice President Ho Ngoc Yen Phuong stated: "We are deeply honored and proud to be recognized at this prestigious regional award. This is a testament to Vietjet's relentless efforts in our mission to connect destinations within individual Southeast Asian nations, link countries in the region with one another, and connect them to the world. With a modern fleet, Vietjet currently operates an average of 400 flights per day, with many new routes set to open connecting the ASEAN region to North Asia, Central Asia, and the West. These figures demonstrate Vietjet's commitment to connectivity, trade development, and tourism, helping the ASEAN community grow more prosperous and sustainable."

These awards were presented by the President of Singapore, Halimah Yacob, and the Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, Robert Yap, recognizing the CEO's contributions to regional and global development as the leader of Vietjet.

As the "airline for the people," Vietjet constantly opens new routes to provide more opportunities for air travel at affordable costs for everyone. With the spirit of "Safety - Happiness – Affordable Price - Punctuality" Vietjet proudly offers passengers enjoyable experiences on new aircraft featuring comfortable leather seats, nine delicious hot meals, beautiful and friendly cabin crew, and many other modern utility services on an e-commerce platform.

Vietjet has been awarded the highest ranking for safety with 7 stars by the world-renowned rating organization AirlineRatings. It was listed in the Top 50 airlines for global financing and operations by AirFinance Journal in 2018 and 2019, and has continuously received "Best Low-Cost Carrier" awards from prestigious organizations such as Skytrax, CAPA, and AirlineRatings.

The ASEAN Business Awards (ABA) was launched by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) in 2007 to give recognition to enterprises and entrepreneurs that have contributed to the growth and prosperity of the ASEAN economy.

The ABA also serves as a platform to spread information concerning the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), boosting integration in the region and globally. Aviation is one of 17 priority integration sectors including agri-based, finance, automotive, textile and garment as well as tourism.
