Vietjet Air enters Viet Nam aviation market

(Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh City, December 2, 2011) – Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company today launches national commercial activities and introduces itself to the public as a low-cost carrier (LCC). A launch ceremony held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which marks Vietjet Air’s official entry into the Vietnam aviation market, was attended many distinguished guests, municipal authorities, leaders of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, partners, and clients.

With the slogan “Save more, fly more”, Vietjet Air aims to develop the Vietnam aviation market and make air transport accessible to all Vietnamese and foreign tourists through affordably-priced, high-quality, and safe aviation services and products.

The national commercial launch also marks the opening of Vietjet Air’s booking offices and travel agents for selling tickets nationwide. The budget carrier’s website www.vietjetair.com and CallCenter 19001886 are also launched on the occasion to offer a comprehensive ticket-booking network to clients.

Besides 120 authorized collection points located at HDbank’s transaction network, Vietjet Air will introduce more collection points at local and international banks as well as provide payment services via ATM networks and internet banking in the near future.

The low-cost model has recently become popular with many airlines around the world. As one of the pioneers of this model in Vietnam, Vietjet Air targets to bring flying experiences to all Vietnamese, even low-income earners, thanks to affordable and flexibly priced tickets.

Vietjet Air Deputy General Director Nguyen Duc Tam says: “As a low-cost carrier, Vietjet Air will operate new Airbus A320 aircraft to save energy and reduce operation and maintenance costs. We will also maximize the aircraft’s usage efficiency by putting all 180 seats into operation. Especially, passengers on our first Airbus A320 flights will have the chance to experience new leather-covered seats, which are expected to help them enjoy their time aboard Vietjet Air.”

The operation of new and renowned aircraft will be the key to Vietjet Air’s future success as they will minimize technical problems that can cause unexpected flight delays, according to Mr Tam.

Initially, Vietjet Air will operate 4 flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi per day. The number will be increased to 14 in early 2012.
