Vietjet Air Appoints Singapore’s SIAEC ITM Services Supplier

(Vietjet Air, Ho Chi Minh City, 20 February 2012) – Vietjet Air today announced the signing of an Inventory Technical Management (ITM) Services Agreement with Singapore International Airlines Engineering Company (SIAEC). The event was well arranged on the occasion of the Singapore Airshow 2012 held between Feb14-19, 2012. Under the flexibly-timing agreement, SIAEC will provide Vietjet Air’s fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft with a wide spectrum of ITM services, including spares pooling and support, as well as component repair and overhaul. ITM services ensure high dispatch reliability for Vietjet Air as the carrier can lower aircraft maintenance cost and eliminate risk of inventory obsolescence. The agreement is in line with Vietjet Air’s strategies to professionalize its fleet, which is projected to increase to 15 aircraft by 2015. It also marks a milestone in Vietjet Air partnership not only with SIAEC but also its Group as a whole

Mr Pritam Singh, Chief Operating Officer of Vietjet Air, said: “I am delighted that Vietjet Air now partner with SIAEC to help Vietjet Air better maintain and operate its fast-increasing fleet in the coming time. SIAEC has been a renowned provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services in the Asia-Pacific and I believe that all of our new Airbus A320 aircraft, together with SIAEC’s excellent ITM services, will make our flights be on time, friendly, convenient, and most cost-efficient in Vietnam and the region.”

“A partner with integrity in the aviation industry will be also a guiding and motivating factor for Vietjet Air growing from strength to strength to realize its international services plan,” he added.

The partner of Vietjet Air also brings the Singaporean supplier’s total number of Airbus A320 family aircraft maintained under its Fleet Management Program to more than 100 aircraft spanning across Asia, Middle East, Australia and the United States.

Mr William Tan, CEO of SIAEC, said: “Our latest ITM contract with Vietjet Air underscores SIAEC’s competitiveness as one of the world’s largest providers of fleet management services.  Airlines in general and Vietjet Air in particular are increasingly finding it more cost-efficient to outsource these engineering support functions to us. We are confident that SIAEC is able to provide Vietjet Air 24/7 support, high despatch reliability and seamless technical support across its growing international network”.
