Myanmar’s Vice President visits VietjetAir’s head office

(Ho Chi Minh City, March 26, 2013) — During his official state visit last week, the Vice President of Myanmar Nyan Tun paid a visit to VietjetAir's head office in Ho Chi Minh City. The visiting dignitary complimented VietjetAir on its many achievements. He sent his best wishes to VietjetAir's leaders and the airline's staff adding that he hoped the airline would soon launch a flight connecting Vietnam and Myanmar. The vice president noted that such a connection would not only introduce VietjetAir's friendly, high-quality services and low-cost flights to Myanmar for the first time but also help meet growing travel demand between the two countries, thus contributing to the cooperation of Myanmar and Vietnam in the years ahead.

VietjetAir is the first private airline in Vietnam to be licensed to operate domestic and international flights. The airline’s schedule now features more than 300 flights a week. All flights are operated by brand new Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline has already served over one million passengers since its first flight took off on December 31, 2011.

Now with nine domestic routes in Vietnam, the airline will focus on developing an extensive international network to further boost trade, tourism and investment among neighboring countries. The Vice President of Myanmar’s visit to VietjetAir will certainly facilitate future cooperation between Myanmar and Vietnam’s second largest carrier, confirming its growing position as the fun and friendly airline of choice in the region.
