Danang International Airport’s five millionth passenger arrives on a Vietjet flight

Danang, 30 December, 2014 – Today, Danang International Airport welcomed its five millionth passenger, Mr. Tran Minh Thinh, the Manager of Ong Thep 190 Company, who arrived on Vietjet flight VJ511 from Hanoi. 

Vietjet took the opportunity to present Mr. Minh with free flights with Vietjet for the whole year as well as a round trip ticket to Singapore to the two passengers who were adjacent passengers –  Mr. Yasuda Takenori, a tourist from Japan, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Ly, an employee of Fubon Vietnam.

Leaders from the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, and the Danang City People’s Committee attended an event to celebrate the arrival of Danang International Airport’s five millionth passenger.

Danang International Airport, which has been operating since 25 December, 2011, is the third largest airport in Vietnam. In 2014 the airport has seen an increase of 16% in passengers year-on-year while the number of international passengers travelling to Danang airport reached 900,000 people, a 53% increase year-on-year. 

Having reached the impressive total of five million passengers in three years, Danang International Airport is planning to expand the airport’s infrastructure to boost the capacity to 10 million passengers per year. 

The lucky passenger, Mr. Tran Minh Thinh, said, “I am really surprised and delighted to be the five millionth passenger! Vietjet flight has given me this great luck!
