Foreign exchange FAQ

Currently you can buy AUD, EUR, USD, JPY, CAD, THB.

The maximum is 5,000 USD per departure (other foreign currencies converted equivalently) according to the attached regulations.

You can collect foreign currency right after successful payment and no later than 4:30 PM, 2 days after the transaction is completed (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays).

 In case the customer successfully registers to buy foreign currency before 4:30 PM: The customer can receive it immediately and no later than 2 days after the successful registration date (receipt time is during working hours as regulated by HDBank).

In case the customer successfully registers to buy foreign currency after 4:30 PM: The customer can receive it within 3 working days (receipt time is during working hours as regulated by HDBank).

Customers can make payments through a banking app that supports QR functionality. 

You can only buy foreign currency within 15 days before departure.  

You need to visit an HDBank transaction office to cancel the transaction and receive a refund.  

 No, purchased foreign currency cannot be exchanged for another type.  

You can cancel the transaction at HDBank if you have not yet received the foreign currency, and no cancellation fee will be charged. The funds will be refunded to the account used by the customer to purchase the foreign currency.

Yes, if the exchange rate changes, you need to top up to continue the transaction.  

HDBank evaluates the exchange rate at the time the customer registers to purchase foreign currency and compares it with the ceiling rate (the highest rate) on the date the customer receives the currency:

·   If the exchange rate at the time of registration is higher than the ceiling rate on the date of receipt, the transaction will be executed at the ceiling rate, and HDBank will refund the difference to the customer.

·  If the exchange rate at the time of registration is less than or equal to the ceiling rate on the date of receipt, the transaction will be executed at the registered rate.

 Customers are always guaranteed to purchase foreign currency at the best possible rate within the range committed by HDBank, based on the published ceiling and floor rates.

Customers can still order foreign currency for someone else with the corresponding information as on the flight ticket.

Applies to passengers with international round-trip Vietjet flight tickets.

Register to buy foreign currency through the Vietjet Air Website/Mobile application.

Customers can still register to buy foreign currency on the Vietjet Air App/Web even if the flight ticket has not been successfully paid (pending payment status); however, to successfully receive the foreign currency at the counter, the flight ticket must be fully paid.

The passenger must top up to continue the transaction.  

No, it does not apply to domestic Vietnam flights.
