Orientation 2014 - VietJet is reaching to a new height
As to assess and honor all the achievements of VietJet in 2013, preparing for the new goal in the new year with new success, the “Orientation conference 2014” was already hosted on 22nd Feb 2014. Participating in this event are some distinguished presence of Representatives from the Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Airports, partners inbound and outbound, VietJet Board of Management and VietJet staffs.
VietJet has wrapped up the year 2013 with many exciting and memorable events significantly impressed the aviation industry in Vietnam and region. With a fleet of 11 aircraft, VietJet network has been outspread nationally and internationally. We improve the training issue by establishing Training Centre, technical maintenance Centre. VietJet organized and sponsored more than 80 resounding events. We have received variety of prestigious domestic and international awards so far. VietJet also donated lots of health insurance cards to the poor throughout the country as well as conducted the charity program, organized two relief flights to help the victims in the Central of Vietnam and Philippines who severely suffered from the Haiyan typhoon beforehand. BNP Paribas to act as financial adviser to VietJetAir
(Singapore, 13/02/2014). At the Airshow in Singapore, BNP Paribas and VietJetAir have finalized an agreement wherein BNP Paribas will act as financial adviser to VietJet Air in relation to the lease financing of the first three aircraft that VietJet Air will receive in 2014 and 2015, which have a combined list price of US$ 270 million. The two parties also agreed that BNP Paribas will be VietJetAir’s strategic partner in other aircraft financing plans in the future.
BNP Paribas is a leading international bank in aviation finance, serving 128 airlines and aircraft leasing firms. In 2012 and 2013, the bank advised and arranged financing for 125 aircraft and in 2012, arranged USD7.4 billion of aircraft loans. Read more
VietJetAir chooses CFM56-5B to power A320ceo fleet
Valued at more than $800 million U.S.
SINGAPORE — 12th February 2014 — Vietnam's VietJetAir today announced it has selected CFM International’s CFM56-5B engine to power 21 firm AirbusA320ceo (current engine option) family aircraft, including 14 A320ceos and 7 A321ceos. The agreement is valued at more than $800 million U.S. at list price; the agreement was signed today by Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao CEO of VietJetAir and Gaël Meheust, Vice President of sales for CFM International.
Based in Ho Chi Minh City, VietJetAir has been a CFM customer since it commenced operations in late 2011 with leased CFM56-5B-powered A320 aircraft. Read more

VietJetAir finalises major A320 Family order
(Singapore, 11 February 2014) - Vietnam’s VietJetAir has finalised a major order for the A320 Family to meet its future expansion plans. The purchase agreement covers firm orders for 42 A320neo, 14 A320ceo and 07 A321ceo, plus 30 purchase rights. In addition the airline will lease 07 (seven) more A320 Family aircraft from third party lessors. The order of 63 aircraft valued at USD 6,4 billion, and the purchasing agreement of 100 aircrafts valued at USD 9,1 billion. The first aircrafts of this contract will be delivered within this year. This is the next step of the agreement which was signed on September 2013 in Paris under the distinguished witness of The Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung and the Prime Minister of the Republic of France, Mr. Jean-Marc Ayrault.
The ceremony was solemnly held in the framework of EU-ASEAN Aviation Summit and Singapore Airshow 2014. The order was finalised today at the Singapore Airshow by Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Vice Chairwoman and CEO, VietJetAir and Mr. Fabrice Brégier, President and CEO, Airbus. Minister of Transport paid field trip to Airports on New Year Eve
On the New Year Eve of 2014 (January 30th, 2014) The Transport Minister Mr. Dinh La Thang had paid field trip to airports in Vietnam. This activity was to supervise and encourage all relevant authorities and staff at airports, airline operators to better serve passengers during the Tet holiday. Mr. Minister had also visited and wished VietJetAir’s leaders and staff at Noi Bai International Airport.
Mr. Minister expected aviation industry to be the pioneer industry of the country to promote Vietnam’s development and strengthen the country’s position in globalization progress. The Minister has asked officers from all levels to use low cost carriers as main transport means for their duty travels to help reduce public expenses. His call for using low cost carriers was agreed and widely supported by many leaders from different industries and Vietnamese citizens. Read more
